Juneau Airport Hotels With the Best Ratings

23 August, 2022

When you’re looking for Juneau airport hotels, you want the one with the best ratings because it will likely ensure a better experience than a hotel with poor ratings. But with so many review websites it’s tough to know which one you should trust.

To help, we’ve put together a list of all airport hotels in Juneau with their ratings from the top travel websites so you can compare and contrast the ratings to decide for yourself which hotel best meets your needs.

Juneau Airport Hotels With the Best Ratings

Finding a good hotel based solely on online reviews can be challenging because many of the review websites suppress certain reviews based on how much the hotel pays for their listing or issues with algorithms designed to surface the best reviews.

For example, Travelocity gets 1/5 stars from customers on the Better Business Bureau website, but you likely never would have guessed that based on the breadth of reviews available there.

So if you’re looking to book a high-quality, trustworthy hotel, you should check multiple review sites. And ideally, you should book the hotel directly through the hotel’s website to avoid issues with your reservations and disputes between the listed price and what you actually get charged. Sometimes these third-party websites don’t communicate the reservation properly to the hotel, which means you arrive and there is no reservation available.

Review websites can certainly be helpful though and tell you more about what to expect from a hotel. Here’s a look at the six Juneau airport hotels and their reviews from multiple sources to guide you in finding the best one for your needs.

1. Frontier Suites

Frontier Suites is a locally owned and operated hotel that will provide you with an authentic Juneau experience. You’ll have a full kitchen in your suite and separate rooms to relax and sleep. If you’re traveling in a group, it’s a great place to go when you have many travelers.

Best positive review topics:

  • Close to the airport and grocery store
  • Full kitchen that’s well stocked
  • Comfortable beds
  • Suites are spacious
  • Good food options nearby
  • Clean environment
  • On-site restaurant
  • Helpful front desk staff

2. Best Western Country Lane Inn

The Best Western Country Lane Inn is one of the highest-rated hotels in the area. But with that also comes a high price tag. You’ll pay far more to stay at one of the Best Western options in Juneau (there’s also Grandma’s Feather Bed, which offers a bed and breakfast feel). The hotel is extremely charming and if you want to use hotel points to pay for your stay in Juneau, this is one of the best ways to do it. Here’s what customers say about their stay at the Best Western Country Lane Inn.

Best positive review topics:

  • Free airport and ferry shuttle
  • Shuttle to downtown, though hours of operation are limited
  • Breakfast is provided and is good
  • Comfortable beds

Disadvantages customers list:

  • The staff is not all that friendly
  • Overpriced

3. Aspen Hotel

You’re less than one mile from the airport, which means you could walk there if you wanted to when staying at Aspen Hotel. Most customers enjoy their stay at the hotel and find the staff to be friendly and helpful. There are several challenges that the guests face though, including the lack of an airport shuttle despite the hotel’s proximity to the airport.

Best positive review topics:

  • Clean
  • Good location with easy airport access
  • The kitchen is nice to have
  • Polite staff
  • Lobby coffee is delicious

Disadvantages customers list:

  • Cost of transportation to downtown (true of any airport hotel though)

  • Problems with the internet
  • In-room coffee is not good
  • The front desk could not supply essentials, like a toothbrush and toothpaste if you forget them

4. Best Western Grandma’s Feather Bed

The Best Western Grandma’s Feather Bed offers a unique experience in Juneau because it is located in a converted home. When staying there, it almost feels like you’ve arrived at a bed and breakfast instead of a traditional hotel. But you have all the amenities you’d expect from a hotel and you’re only a mile from the airport. One challenge with trying to book here is that there are few rooms, which means you have to book well in advance to secure one of these rooms. And because it’s a unique experience, you’ll pay far more per night than you would elsewhere.

Best positive review topics:

  • Rooms are spacious
  • Bathrooms are large
  • Rooms include a whirlpool tub
  • Delicious breakfast
  • Quiet ambiance

Disadvantages customers list:

  • Expensive nightly fees
  • Hard to secure a room since the hotel is quite small
  • Nothing is within walking distance from this hotel

5. Travelodge by Wyndham Juneau

You’ll have many great amenities during your stay at Travelodge by Wyndham Juneau. The 24-hour front desk is helpful and the on-site Mexican restaurant is great after a long day of travel or adventure in Juneau. It’s also one of the rare hotels in Juneau with a pool. Prices are decent for a Juneau hotel, which is a great perk. This is a chain hotel, so you won’t get the same authentic experience as you will with local hotels. See what else guests have to say about their stay.

Best positive review topics:

  • Clean rooms
  • The airport is across the street
  • The on-site restaurant is easy and convenient
  • Pool

Disadvantages customers list:

  • Breakfast hours are limited, especially for travelers with early flights
  • Dated décor and rooms
  • Rooms are often hot in the summer
  • Beds are uncomfortable

6. Extended Stay America Suites Juneau

If you need a hotel near the airport, the Extended Stay is not a prime choice. It has several issues that customers complain about. But if you’re traveling during the busy season and need somewhere close to the airport, it’s not a terrible option.

Best positive review topics:

  • Very close to the airport
  • Staff is friendly

Disadvantages customers list:

  • Not the cleanest rooms
